On the last week of junior year, we went on a beach clean up to Bangsaen Beach. It was a one hour ride from school to the beach, and once we reached we were divided into groups and each group got 1-2 garbage bags. Once formalities were done, we had a little more than an hour to clean the beach as much as we could. This was definitely an experience -- it made me realize the extent of trash on the beach. It was a tiring trip, but we (my group) picked up a lot of trash ranging from small bits of plastic to huge pieces. It made me feel good knowing that I was able contribute to the environment, even if it was a small thing to do. This experience allowed me to take part and hopefully help improve a global issue -- pollution and climate change. And being able to go on this trip and clean up the beach collaboratively with my friends was even better as working together allowed us to pick up more trash than we would've picked up individually.
